Daisy Rock Rock Candy Custom Special (Red Star) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I bought the Daisy Rock, Rock Candy guitar as a Christmas present for my 15 year-old niece who lives overseas in L.A. I had never played or even seen a Daisy Rock guitar before, but purchased it after extensive research on the net. An article that influenced me considerably appeared in the May 2007 issue of Guitar Player Magazine, titled: "35 guitars under $500."
Summary comments about the Daisy Rock, Rock Candy Custom Special guitar made by the five experienced testers were as follows: "Plays flawlessly. Sounds amazing. Fabulous guitar." "A joy to play. Pickups lively and well balanced. Volume and tone controls have good range." "Every tone I wanted I got. One of the most impressive budget axes I've seen." "Simply stunning on all fronts. A blast to play." "I love this guitar's great set up and superb balance of meatiness and shimmer."
The Daisy Rock, Rock Candy Custom Special was one of seven guitars that received the highest ratings out of the 35 tested guitars. The top seven were - the Daisy Rock, Rock Candy, Custom Special $399, - the Godin Redline One $449, - The Hamar XT SATQ $479, - The Ibanez ARX320 $399, - the PRS Se Soapbar II $499, - The Reverend Volcano $499. - the Schecter Lady Luck $449.
It's been a year and a half since my niece received her gift, and I haven't received any feedback from her, positive or negative, so, I guess I'll go with this: Daisy Rock guitar: five stars. Niece: three stars. :-)

Daisy Rock Elite Guitar, Violet Burst Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I love my Daisy Rock Stardust Elite. After reading an outstanding review in Guitar Player magazine I was swayed from the equally girly-glam Rock Candy to this little beauty and I wasn't disappointed. The tones are rich and full, without the annoyance of neck buzzing like its Rock Candy counterpart.
For my smallish hands the 3/4 scale neck is perfect. I can easily switch between barre chords without manually placing each finger (read: using my right hand to place my fingers on the chords) to obtain additional reach. My speed and flow of notes improved from the first go on my Elite. Additionally, the slim line of the body makes for comfortable playing.
Even my boyfriend, who is a seasoned guitarist, is surprised and satisfied with the quality and sound from this "girly" guitar. Don't let the name, concept, or sparkly colors fool you - these guitars are quality instruments with a great sound.

The Stardust Elite Classic has rock attitude beneath its pretty finishes with a pair of high-output humbuckers for a rich, crunchy tone, and a mahogany body for a deep, dark sound. Additional tonal options are easy to dial in thanks to a 3-way selector switch, and a push-pull tone control that "taps" the humbuckers to add single-coil sounds for sonic versatility. The Stardust Elite Classic features set-neck construction for increased sustain and stability, Grover tuners along with a fully adjustable tune-o-matic bridge to ensure accurate intonation and rock solid tuning, and Daisy Rock's trademark 'Slim & Narrow" neck which makes it easier for girls with smaller hands to play. Plus, it's lightweight so it won't break your back, even on those super long gigs.Don't take our word for it - Guitar Player Magazine summed up the Stardust Elite Classic as follows: "Pros: rude tones, excellent playability. Cons: none. It's fun to play, it feels great, and it always rocks hard." All Daisy Rock guitars include a limited lifetime warranty, arrive set up, and are ready to play. Daisy Rock - Rock Candy Custom Special Guitar, Dark Star Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm a full-time working guitar player and guitar instructor, who happens to teach a lot of women and girls ages 6-60 (but I also have a lot of male students.)
Although I do own many guitars by other well-known traditional brands, I mostly play Daisy Rock guitars in the recording studio, in live performances and at various pro-level jam sessions in Los Angeles. My students usually see me play a Daisy Rock at lessons. The reasons why I do it is because Daisy Rock makes guitars that have a lot of high-quality features that you'd usually find in much more expensive instruments; they're really easy and comfortable to play, and I really like their mission to inspire females to play guitar.
I first saw the Rock Candy Dark Star at the 2006 NAMM show, and was really struck by how easy and good it felt to play. The satin finish on the back of the neck really helps. My hands are tiny (as small as the hands of some of my pre-teen students), so bending strings and playing barre chords was always a bit of a struggle for me when I started playing. I wish this guitar would have been around when I began taking guitar lessons!
I soon got the chance to plug the Dark Star into an amp... it's a great sounding guitar, especially for rock and harder rock styles. I played in a Led Zeppelin tribute group and played this guitar at shows, since Les Pauls are way too heavy for me and my back. If you want to know how it sounds, feel free to visit my website [...] - all lead and rhythm guitar tracks were done on the Dark Star.
My only cautionary note is that you have to be careful with the satin paint finish, as it scratches easily. Make sure to keep your guitar in the case when you're not playing it, and don't lean it against the wall or do anything else that'll make it fall - but that's common advice regardless of what guitar you play!
Guitar Player Magazine also featured the Dark Star in their Editor's Pick section a couple of years ago when the guitar model first came out. They mentioned how much guitar (=high-quality features) you get for the relatively low price. I love my guitar!

Daisy Rock Retro-H De-Luxe (Sea Foam Green) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This guitar sounds the best of any of the electric girl guitars I have purchased so far. It is very lightweight so it doesn't tire you out to hold it and play it. I just got mine yesterday and have already put in four hours of playing time. Men and women alike love this guitar. Experienced players love the bigsby roller saddle. Everyohne loves the color which is really more of an aqua. One of my co-workers said it was so beautiful it gave her the shivers. This is a guitar to fall in love with. I can barely put it down.

Daisy Rock Rebel Rockit Supernova (Cosmic Pink) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)My mom got me the rebel rockit guitar for my 12 birthday and it's the best present I have received ever! It's perfect because I can fit my fingers around it and the strings are closer to the fretbored so my fingers don't hurt after I play. If I can just play it all day and all night, I would. I play it everytime I take a break from doing my school work since I am a home school. I love my guitar so much. It is beautiful and easy to play. I recommend it to everybody that if you buy a gift for your child, get a daisy rebel rockit supernova. Your child will be very happy 100%. Sincerely, Nadine

Daisy Rock Rebel Rockit Heart (Black Pearl) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)This is a great guitar if you are looking for an affordable strat knock off. It does NOT have a Duncan P-90 as it states in the description, it just has three regular output single humbuckers. The only thing I'm not sure I'm in love with on this guitar is the black (not shiny silver) chrome hardware and the heart pickguard. Well, I do have this one and I love it -- but I'm planning to upgrade the humbuckers and maybe also the pickguard. It sounds great as is, but I want it to be a little louder.

Dean Performer Mini Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Cutaway Guitar with Tuner Preamp Trans Purple Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)It sounds really good for its price. You won't regret buying this as your first guitar. But you won't really appreciate its sounds for the price, unless you've had several guitars before. Don't fall in love with the purple in the picture, though. I did and I was disappointed. But if you want an affordable, great sounding, purplish guitar, this is a definite buy.

Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic-Electric Left-Handed Guitar, Plum Purple Burst Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)I'm not making a judement on the sound quality as I've a tin ear, but the description for this guitar should say somewhere that it has a plastic back (the resonance cavity is plastic). The Daisy Rock website actually calls the back a composite material, but it looks and feels like plastic. This information, regarding the composite back, was not on the Amazon webpage, or the manufacturer's webpage for this guitar, but on the manufacturer's general page for all guitars of this type, so it was easy to miss. The guitar looks nice and probably plays fine, but $300 for a plastic guitar seems a high price. I returned this and got the next model up (wildwood) which appears to be all wood.

Daisy Rock WildWood Artist Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Pink Burst Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)As a first time guitar buyer and complete rookie guitar player, my only criteria when shopping was that it had to be PINK. When My Daisy Rock Guitar arrived, my mind immediately associated the bubble gum / pepto pink color with a toy. I had wanted a real guitar, not a child's instrument.
Well, I got a real guitar and more. After just 5 minutes of haphazard strumming I realized I had gotten my money's worth. This is a quality instrument with great sound. The built-in tuner is a real plus for novices like me. I'll be able to play this guitar for years to come.
I did have concerns about the smaller size - as I'm a 6' tall athlete and women's gear is always too small for me. But the adjustments for women to this guitar are just fantastic.
I'm thrilled with the purchase, LOVE the color, and would recommend this guitar to new and experience players.

Daisy Rock Butterfly Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar, Zebra Butterfly Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)After having the worst experience ever ordering a Dean guitar from Amazon I saw this deal a few months later as I was looking for a guitar for my wife. I swore I would never buy from Amazon again and was just using it to compare prices.
I am a seasoned guitarist and very picky.
When I clicked on the price for the Butterfly I was shocked to see it at $109.00 I decided what the heck that is $280.00 off the price it must be a mistake or broken but I went for it anyway.
The Guitar showed up on my doorstep packaged perfectly and in perfect condition one day early WOW! I repeat $109.00. This has to be my greatest find ever. It plays like a dream and is well worth Amazons updated $389.00 asking price.
It sounds great unplugged or plugged in and the workmanship is as good as it gets for the price range "beautiful finish, quality set-up,
nice inlays, stays in tune after hard playing and even came with a nice soft case.
My faith has been restored in Amazon !!

Daisy Rock Pixie Acoustic (Pink Sparkle) Review

Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)Aesthetically super-cool, but most importantly, the sound is excellent. I've tried out a number of acoustic guitars over the years and am rarely completely won over -- one's too tinny; one's too booming, etc. I was really impressed with a Daisy Rock model's sound a while back, but the look wasn't quite right for me. Then comes the glittery Pixie and, being a child of the '80s, I had to have it!
I tried one in a store to make sure I liked the sound, but wound up buying it through Amazon vendor ZoZo Music (who shipped promptly and is just fab) to get the best price.
As advertised, the smaller neck and lighter weight make it ideal for females. (Not just "girls," but perhaps girls at heart!)
It's fantastic -- get it and rock on!
