Here's a Delay Pedal with incredible depth that's sure to delight even the most discerning musician. From Ultra Clean Repeats to even the most dirtiest "Tube" Driven Delays this Pedal Has it All!
Only recommendation (and the reason why I gave this pedal 4 stars) replace the 'stock' 12AX7 Tube with a good quality (I used a Mullard) 12AU7.
Tonal Bliss!
Check one out, with the right tube this delay will send you places you have only dreamed a good delay can do.

Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus Amp Review

Roland JC-120 Jazz Chorus Amp
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm in heaven. I was playing on a Peavey Classic 30, but the JC-120 blows that amp away. This Amp is the standard to which all amps are measured. It has 120 watts of the sweetest tone to ever make your ears bleed. It's loud and clean! You can actually hear your guitar's true uncolored tone ring through. When I play jazz, I plug straight into the front of the amp with no effects whatsoever, and it's the most beautiful clean tone I've ever had.
The chorus on this thing is legendary too. I can't help but think I've heard this same chorus many times before in studio recordings. That would make sense since I hear this is a studio as well as a stage standard.
The reverb is tops as well. The distortion is a little weak, but I have a Boss GT-10 to handle all my effects needs since I have to play a multitude of different styles. Works good since the amp has a stereo input, and the GT-10 has a stereo output.
The Amp holds up well on the road which is a plus if you have to travel a lot, and the casters are a life saver.
I recommend this amp to anyone playing ANY style of music that wants versatile professional sound. I don't think you can find a better clean tone at any price, and it won't muddy up your effects.
On the down side for some guitarists... If your chops are sloppy this amp is unforgiving. You really can hear everything on it. If you practice clean like you're supposed to, you are in for the tonal treat of your live. Enjoy!

Radial Tonebone Plexitube Tube Distortion Pedal Review

Radial Tonebone Plexitube Tube Distortion Pedal

I really like this pedal. I bought this thinking I could get a tube sound while doing home recording without and amp. It'd didn't work well that way, but this thing rages when sent through an amp. I was using a basic 2X12" 100W fender and it sounded amazing. It even sounds great through my 25W 10" practice amp.

Empress Superdelay Review

Empress Superdelay

If you are looking for lush delays that can create ethereal textures and give the music some breath, this is the pedal for you. Its simply the best delay stompbox you can buy, with the only other being the Eventide Timefactor.

The Empress Superdelay isn't your basic delay. Sure it does basic delay sounds, and it sounds better than anything else out there while doing them. But if all you want is a simple delay, the Empress Superdelay isn't for you. The Empress Superdelay is for musicians who want to be inspired by their pedals, not limited by them.

Carl Martin Octaswitch Review

Carl Martin Octaswitch
Average Reviews:

My pedals sound amazing. No dancing. Incredible. Only thing that sucks but that is just inherent in the pedal is how many cables are needed. Like 16 cables. It's crazy. But the pedal is true bypass which makes my rig sound so friggin good. I'm in the process of making my own cables because it's cheaper and I can get specific lengths. The Octa-switch is highly recommended.

Fulltone CLYDE Standard Wah Pedal Review

Fulltone CLYDE Standard Wah Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Fulltone Standard Clyde Wah is one of the world's best wah pedal effects. Not only does it have a vocal-like quality of that of a muted trumpet, but the pedal when switched off is true-bypass and does not detract from the signal from the guitar to the amplifier.
The pedal is rugged, albeit the particular pedal I had purchased had a sensitive footswitch that required a softer "stomp" of the foot for the pedal to work correctly.
When one compares the Fulltone Standard Clyde Wah to other pedals, there, in my mind, is no comparison.
I have owned many other models and brands of wah pedals that are available on the market today and, to me, my search for the best pedal has ended.
That being said, your ears can only be the judge of what you should buy for any sort of guitar or sound related gear, but because I have played guitar for over the past 45 years, I would recommend this pedal for anyone who isn't sure of what to buy. You really can't go wrong with this wah, it's just that good.

Eventide Pitch Factor Harmonizer, Pitch+Delay Stompbox Review

Eventide Pitch Factor Harmonizer, Pitch+Delay Stompbox
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The argument arises every once in a while that there are no new effects made for guitarists. Most argue that the new effects are reissues or slight modifications to the 5 or 6 staples we may have on the floor beneath us already.
Eventide has changed all of this by taking a step back and a leap forward in the arena of on floor guitar processing. The PitchFactor's huge spectrum of sonic finishes for your guitar varies from subtle thickening of your tone to out of this world synthesizer effects.
The factory presets sound like a who's who of Eventide users over the years. You can dial up some Jimmy Page or Frank Zappa instantly out of the box. Steve Vai's sought after Eventide H3000 tones are not so subtly called "Wyld Stallions Solo" a little nod to Bill & Ted and VaiBallerina. The "Heavy Lead" presets also have a Vaiesque sound to them with the addition of a Boss DS-1 and some yanking on my tremelo bar.
This stomp box at first blush seems to have all of the processing power of the sought after Eventide Eclipse V4 Harmonizer and H3000 at a fraction of the price. The $579.00 price tag is modest considering 10 of Eventide's signature pitch and delay effects are built into one unit.
The PitchFactor delivers up to 4 voices of diatonic pitch shifting and up to 1.5 seconds of stereo delay This allows me to clear a few boxes off of my pedal board. With the addition of a plug and play expression pedal I am also able to put my Digitech Whammy in mothballs. There is also an easily accessible built in tuner freeing yet another spot on my over crowded pedal board.
I love the three button design of the box. This allows you to have two presets per bank an awesome feature for live performances. The option to use guitar or line level inputs and outputs also make this a great addition to any home studio. The studio quality sound can be used in the mix on bass, keys or even vocals.
Eventide has done a phenomenal job with their website supporting this pedal and all of their stomp box line. There is an interactive webpage where you can hear some of the preset effects. The demo page also gives you a feel for some of the button functionality. The demo will inspire you to get off your butt and to go to your local music store to hear this pedal. When you do pack a lunch you are going to be there a long time.
In anticipation of the demo unit arriving at my office I tried the pedal first at my local music shop. I got about 2 minutes with the pedal alone as a crowd started to slowly form. After about 15 minutes the store manager bumped me from the pedal and started fiddling with it himself. A line of guitarists soon formed each waiting their turn to try out this sonic monster.
The PitchFactor is all upside. There is nothing negative I can say about this pedal. The sound is a perfect 10, it is easy to use with a low learning curve. This is a pedal that a novice can get a whole lot out of as can an experienced guitar geek with a solid knowledge of music theory and intervals. Bottom-line is the PitchFactor is a great tool that will help any electronic musician (not just guitarists) define their style and tone.

Eventide TimeFactor Twin Delay Stombox Review

Eventide TimeFactor Twin Delay Stombox
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this after a couple of failed attempts with cheaper Boss and TC units. For the extra $$ it's built like a tank, and works exactly as advertised. Awesome, inspiring delay sounds, more than I could explore in a lifetime, are readily accessible. If you just want simple delays there are much cheaper stompboxes (e.g. Digitech Digidelay, Boss in the $100 range) that do the job fine with a lot less programming. But if you use delay a lot are are particular about the details, avoid the $200-$300 range TC and Boss options and get the Eventide.

Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai Delay Looper Pedal Review

Electro-Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai Delay Looper Pedal
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Although all the rest of my pedals are analog, I thought I would go for this little puppy for the following reasons: 1) I was looking for a delay with tap ability to create a nice shimmering sound that would complement the other guitarist in our band. This has tap functionality and up to 3 seconds of delay time. 2) It comes with the ability to modulate your sound to some extent, creating chorus and flange-like effects. 3) It has a boat load of other functions, like loops, reverse effects, etc. 4) It's programmable. 5) I like Electro Harmonix products in general. 6) It's relatively inexpensive for what it has. 7) It has stereo-ins and outs. 8) It doesn't suck tone and signal strength. 9) It looks great.
I guess you could see this as a list of the pedals "pros." Thus far I've tested in out for only 2 hours or so, but it's lived up to my expectations. It actually has way more functionality than I wanted, but I'm looking forward to exploring and creating new sounds. For about two hundred, this is a great deal.
There are a few "cons" and they are: (1) It takes a while to learn how to use. The manual is _essential_ here. Right off the bat it tells you how to get a simple delay. I demo'd it in the store (Guitar Center) and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. It was creating all sorts of crazy loops and I couldn't even shut the loops off! It was totally going crazy! So, if you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't mess with this pedal. Fortunately, the manual looks very clear and although long (10 pages or more?) I think after I read through all of it I'll be clear on things. Actually, the fact that the pedal was going crazy when I demo'd it was cool, because now I know I can do all that crazy stuff (not that I'd really use that in a gig).
(2) It's only adaptor-powered, no possibility of battery use.
(3) It's digital. If you absolutely must have an analog delay, then you might check out the new MXR Carbon Copy, which is a bit cheapter, is smaller and is analog. Everyone says it's a great pedal. However, it can't do any of the other cool jazz this baby can do, and doesn't have tap tempo. Or for more money -- about three hundred -- you can get the analog Memory Man which everyone raves about. Or a Maxon delay. But the sound on this is close enough for me, and the analog delays don't have the features this one has.
(4) You can't switch presets with your foot. You have to bend down and turn the Hazarai (white) knob. You could raise the pedal to where you could reach it with your hand, but then you can't stomp on it (for the tap tempo). I'm not sure what to do with this conundrum just yet. Probably I'll only have 2-3 presets that I'll use in a gig and I'll just have to reach down and turn it when I have to?
In conclusion, I did a fair amount of research on delay pedals and demo'd a few in stores. For the money, I think this is a good pedal. It has 2 extra knobs more than a usual delay pedal (not counting the Hazarai knob) and that lets you adjust your sound to make it more analog-like or add some reverb-like effect, which is neat. It's functional, wacky if you want it to be, and it looks great!
* * *
Edit: I have now owned this pedal for about three months. It is great, and has loads of possibilities. Only thing I miss about it, is that it lacks an easy way to switch presets (you have to bend down and turn the Hazarai knob and push it, which you can try to do with your feet, but it's pretty hard!). No regrets about buying it though.

Line 6 DL4 Stompbox Delay Modeler Review

Line 6 DL4 Stompbox Delay Modeler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The Line 6 DL4 Delay Modeler, which debuted in 1999, has been a mainstay in my effects lineup since I bought it, which was in 2003. This pedal sounds beautiful.
I'm not going to get too much into what this pedal can do other than say it will satisfy all of your delay needs. All of the 16 delay settings sound super clean and they should since it's pure 24-bit.
Despite high praise of this product, it still retails for the same price: which is $249. I think this price is way too high considering it has been out for almost 10 years. I bought mine for $235.
What is also great about the DL4 is it can be used as a means to setup a two amplifier/stereo setting, which is one of the best things you can do for your sound I think.
When my pedal dies or if it ever does (my fingers are crossed right now), I'm going to be replacing it, because I can't live without it. I have been playing the guitar for 18 years, so I have many years of experience with effects pedals.
I knew this pedal was the one for me when I walked into a Guitar Center with hopes to try it out and see how I liked it. The salesman hooked me up and showed me a few things about it, which I still can't remember, and he finally talked about the looping function and this was my initial introduction to looping. I played a short melodic chord progression and then I overdubbed and stacked more chords on top of this progression and BAM! There it was, the sound I was looking for my entire life!
This experience has been a revelation to me and has sent me on many sonic adventures. If you do not own it, go down to your local guitar store and try it out and experience the sounds that have made the DL4 a classic.

Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler Review

Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The M13 is an outstanding piece of gear. I've never really loved Line 6's amp/cab modeling stuff. I had the HD147 and liked it for a couple years. But I could never get the tone I wanted. Then I bought a tube amp. A Crate Palomino V32. But lost all the versatility with effects. So then I bought the POD X3L. It had no depth and took all the character out of the amp. So I went the all pedal route. Boss DD-20, L6 Verbzilla, Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic overdrive pedal. Blackstar HT-Dual OD/Dist, etc. I was really happy!!
Then I saw the M13. I was totally floored by how many different effects that were in there and the versatility of routing the "pedals" in order of one another. ITS SO VERSATILE!! The effect quality is right up there with their 4 button stomps (DL4, MM4, DM4, and FM4) after all it was designed to encompass all of those pedals into one package that has a footprint that is just a couple inches bigger than 2 of the 4 button stomps.
The tone of my amp stays the same, and I have all of the delays, reverbs, mods that I could ever use!! You can still use any of your analog pedals (I still have my Blackstar) because there is an onboard effects loop and you can route your existing effects before, after, or anywhere in the middle of the M13. Its incredible!!
I'm so happy I bought this pedal, and it was worth every single penny!! Try one out for yourself and you'll be pleasantly surprised with it!! If you don't like Line 6 gear because you're a tube junkie, forget all of what you thought you knew about Line 6 and try this pedal as soon as you can. I think Line 6 may have taken a new turn with their products and this is definitely an awesome new direction for the company. This pedal rocks!!!
