Martin D Dreadnought Herringbone Rosewood Guitar Kit Review

This product requires some fairly advanced wood working skills and the directions that martin provides are awful. I love the finished product but had to consult several other resources (other than the directions) to figure out what needed to be done.

Breedlove Passport Plus C250/SB--Lefty Guitar Review

Breedlove Passport Plus C250/SB--Lefty Guitar
Average Reviews:

Just received the Breedlove C250/SB Lefty, and it's a Beauty !
"Unplugged" or amplified, the guitar has a full, yet very brilliant tone. It has a striking "piano like" sustain, especially on the lower, wound strings. Setup was good right out of the box. The intonation is perfect across the entire neck ! The action is very good on the unwound strings (E and B), all the way up the neck. The action on the wound strings could possibly be just a bit lower. An allen key was provided to adjust the truss rod (at the sound hole end of the neck), but the neck is very straight "as is", so hopefully the truss rod will not need adjustment (unless I change the gauge of the strings). A "spare" (extra) bridge, and a "bridge shim" were also provided. Not sure I will ever need these, but you never know, they may come in handy at some point ?
The pickup / preamp is true to the natural sound of the guitar, and does not have the "plastic" sound common to many piezo transducer bridge pickup systems. The "Active Preamp" has simple rotary Volume, Bass, and Treble controls.
The built-in tuner is Great !! The tuner's backlit LCD display is *very* crisp......a big improvement over typical LED or LCD bargraph displays found on many "built-in" tuners. The alphabetical readout in 1/2 step increments (D, D#, E, F, F#, etc.) is very helpful.
Overall, I am extremely happy with this guitar, and I think it would be very difficult to find a better guitar anywhere near this price range.
