This price won't be around much longer.As for it's fit and finish as well as it's electronics and lets not forget the sound is all 100%.The beautiful exotic imbuya wood resembles deep rich mahogany.With it's 5-fly laminated mahogany and maple through-body neck in my case came with a ebonol fret board It's a synthetic polymer Pretty much an ideal material for fret boards it also sounds like ebony.Since 1972 I have hand made bass necks and built some of their fret boards out of marble and other stone and this fret board feels a lot like the marble ones or sort of like slate very cool also extremely resistance to string wear!If you are on the fence for reasons to buy the N4 Bass here are some in no order 1.the look timeless 2. the feel sleek,perfect 3.the sound is great,sharp but clear with plenty of Bassy tones 4.The neck with it's deep black Ebonol fret board that I must say is what I may love the most.Once you get your left hand around the Hameln N4's neck your eyes will close and you will start to think your dreaming it's that kind of an experience.One more thing about this neck it's as fast as you are if you can GO hold on cause it can get you their on time.And yes the price that I bet won't be this low very much longer.I searched the web for weeks looking for a bass to put a hand painting in lacquer of some of the Amazon's river basin's exotic animals that will be going on display at a local museum this spring. The bass I chose had to be simple but timeless with bright natural wood tones and after looking at seemed like thousands of basses I chose the Hameln N4 that's it case closed don't wait just buy it.To prove my point last Christmas on blank-bay I saw a original 1966 ice blue fender jass bass that closed on 12/29/10 it was selling for $10.000.00 I have that same bass guitar I bought new in "66" It sits next to the N4 as I write this review and mine "66" is in way better shape than the "66" jass bass selling their was in.I can truly say that the Hameln N4 kills the "66" jass bass in every way! It's just the truth what else can I say I love this bass but it's hard to put down buy it! THE MAD ARTIST
