(More customer reviews)Back in the mid-70's, I bought a Hagstrom Swede. A great guitar then, but unfortunately, I had to sell it (as well as almost all of my other guitars) for financial reasons. Fast forward to 2010. The Hagstrom company, after shutting down in, I believe, 1983, has been back since 2003, and is offering this beautiful Hagstrom Super Swede. I'd heard demonstrations and read reviews of this guitar, and had intended on purchasing one in 2011. But on checking Amazon.com's website, I noticed that the Super Swede in gorgeous Black Gloss was selling for an amazing $504!! I also noted that there were only 2 left of this particular model.
So I reasoned that I'd plan on buying it a lot sooner. Several days later, the price dropped further, to $476! That's $200 less than the normal discounted price! I'd better get it now, I said to myself. I made the purchase, and almost as soon as I did, I noticed that the price on the remaining Super Swede jumped back up to $675!! I feel like I just dodged a bullet!
Anyway, when I received my Swede, which was very nicely boxed and protected (thanks Amazon!), I couldn't believe my eyes. This guitar is stunning. It was set up so well that all I had to do was tune it up and start playing. And oh man, DOES IT play!!. Excellent cleans, super leads. The coil tapping I haven't really explored thoroughly yet; I'm having too much fun!
