(More customer reviews)I purchased this to try and improve my signal strength using the balanced signal option I was also interested in the a mute option allowing me to plug and unplug without dealing with muting the board. I must say this is a nice rig, a very clean signal, lots of EQ ability, lots of very nice options. I just bought a 2009 taylor 414ce Sitka Spuce top ovangkol back and sides with the Expression System. This system has kind of a sqwaak to it that isn't bad, just different. Every Acoustic pickup that I've used seems to have some deficiency to it. I was hoping that the K4 could eliminate or reduce the sqwaak but I couldn't dial it in for that. The other disappointment was that it couldn't be phantom powered. I would say this is a nice piece of equipment but in the end I opted for the L.R. Baggs Para Acoustic DI, it added some warmth, which for me is fine. I could also turn the volume down to mimic the mute effect (only on the XLR out, not the 1/4" out). And actually I was hoping/expecting a little more warmth from the K4, since my sansamp does that. I would say if money, phantom power and super portability are not an object then this is definately a nice unit. In the end I ruturned it. I bought it right here. Amazon did an excellent job of fast shipping and the return was very straight forward as well. Maybe $10 dollars or so.
