Its got a great metal tone and well built. The very first day I pulled off a string and while restringing I was not able to unscrew the saddle srews which were jammed into the saddle blocks. I tried losening the studs and the spring came aff along with the entire bridge....but I fixed it up!...thanks to all the proper allen keys that came with it! Still I was not able to unscrew the saddle screws. I had to bend the metal plates below the saddle screw and then apply sheer force(with the risk of breaking the sadle blocks!)..and was finally able to open it and restring. An adventurous experience to start with.
If you face similar problem dont try this...instead ....provided you have patience unlike me ....immerse the the entire bridge in oil for a couple of days.
Finally, coming to the guitar...neck is pretty narrow..actually the kind I like...not good for those who look for wide neck with space. The floyd rose and locking system is ok. Its comparatively light and 'sleek'. The body looks solid. Its got a classy metal tone. The pickups are good but not the best..not sure if its Timecapsule or just stock dean pickups...pinch harmonics can take quite a bit of concentration and sustain is not as good as les pauls etc. Having said that...surprisingly, it can also be used for country songs...not sure about blues though. Overall it works for me and at this price its definitely a deal.Should be good for gigs and home recording.
