Marcus Miller Jazz Bass V, Maple Fretboard , Shoreline Gold, 3-Ply Black Pickguard Review

Marcus Miller Jazz Bass V, Maple Fretboard , Shoreline Gold, 3-Ply Black Pickguard

Before I got the Marcus V, I had a vintage '66 Fender Jazz Bass. All original. Moderate amount of cool playwear. I still have it and it sounds fantastic. I wanted to add a 5 string to my arsenal and did some research and settled on the Marcus V. I began playing it for songs where the low B string made sense, but now I am starting to use it for everything. Whenever I play it, I get more comments about its great sound than I do for my '66. It seems to have a bit more grit and attitude than the '66. Just a bit and it makes a difference.

Schecter Stiletto Studio-4 Electric Bass (4 String, Honey Satin) Review

Schecter Stiletto Studio-4 Electric Bass (4 String, Honey Satin)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I had searched for a bass for a long time. I wanted to find something that could replace my Yamaha rbx374 (not recommended). I had read countless reviews and played many basses in stores, none of the them were just right. Finally I found a Shecter custom edition. I liked how it played and sounded, but it was a five string. So i looked around online, and found this excellent bass. It had good reviews, and looked wonderful. I took a risk and bought it without playing it first, but fortunately, there was no problem with this bass.
The playability of this bass is amazing. There are no frets that buzz, and the neck is very smooth and fast. All of the tuning pegs turn easily, and stay tuned for a long time. The EMG-HZ give the Shecter an amazing tone. It is warm and syrupy, while still being full and punchy. The tone knobs are great, they are very secure and turn easily, and allow you to get many diverse tones. The build quality is excellent. All the hardware stays firmly in place, and none of it feels cheap. The neck-thru design give it a very long sustain. I have timed an open E note to last over two minutes, before it just turned to static.
I keep flat wound strings on it, so I can not slap very well. However, when there are round's on it, this bass can slap wonderfully. The strings and pickups seem to be placed in perfect position for perfect slap. I have one warning, not a complaint, this bass is a bit on the heavy side. It can get tiring after holding it up for a while. The mahogany wood is very dense and heavy.
Do the looks really need a review? The satin finish matches the golden hardware perfectly. There is not much I can say about the wonderful looks that the picture above does not. The Shecter Stilleto Studio 4 certainly plays, sounds, and looks better than the price that it is selling for. I highly recomend this bass to any player who needs one. Whether you are already a great player, and just want another bass to play with. Whether you are a new bassist, and want something cheap to start out on. This excellent bass will not disappoint anyone.

Spector Legend 4 Classic Bass Guitar (4 String, Clear Gloss Natural) Review

Spector Legend 4 Classic Bass Guitar (4 String, Clear Gloss Natural)

I was turned on to Spector by a friend who is sponsored by them. I've been a die-hard Rickenbacker and Warwick player for 30 years. The Legend 4 is so far better than any other bass under a grand, it's no contest. It's ergonomic, it's clean, the action is fast, the sound is just plain buttah. My $2K Warwick went up for sale the day after. Since the Legend 4 I've purchased a couple other Spectors, but I always go back to my Legend.

Squier by Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass V String, Black Review

Squier by Fender Deluxe Active Jazz Bass V String, Black

Everything about this bass makes it worth the great price, except for one major thing - the width of the fret board at the nut is a whopping 2+ inches! That is a very wide neck, which makes this bass a little tough to get around on. But if you can adjust to the oddly broad fingerboard, this bass really is a great value. Components, construction, fit, finish, and tone are all good - especially for this price.

This is my first bass guitar. I'd been searching for the perfect one with reasonable price and this was it.
Its first day, I only played this w/o amp.(I'm going to try amp tomorrow.) So far, the structure, colour, finishing. great.
Sound? I can't tell since I didn't have chance to try the pickups.

Squier by Fender Classic Vibe Precision Bass 60's, Fiesta Red Review

Squier by Fender Classic Vibe Precision Bass 60's, Fiesta Red
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got this bass from the local Guitar Center three months ago and I have to say that it is really an awesome instrument. I have been playing for about six years now and never thought I would buy a Squier. I have a Highway 1 jazz bass that no other bass has come close to in terms of comfort, playability, and sound until now. I really lovethe p-bass tone and I would not be able to guess that this was a squier if you covered up the word squier on the headstock. My only gripe is a minor one, I am used to the satin finish on my Highway 1 so the thicker gloss on the neck of the Squier took a little getting used to. This is an incredible bass. Compared to the cheaper Squiers this thing blows them out of the water. My dad even said I was stupid for getting a Squier, then he played it and was blown away by the quality of this fine instrument. I cannot say enough good things about this instrument. If you are going to buy a p-bass, are looking for quality at a low price, this is what you need.

Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Precision Bass Maple, Amber Review

Squier by Fender Vintage Modified Precision Bass Maple, Amber
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I used to have a 1978 Fender Precision with a natural finish and black pickguard that I loved everything about, except that I wished it had a maple fretboard. I sadly had to sell it some years ago. Now a couple of months ago, Squier releases this bass which looks just like my old Fender except it has the maple board that I wished my old one had. Considering I had a good experience with Squier's Vintage Modified Jazz bass, at the price of only $279, I decided to go for it, and I am very happy I did.
It's a great bass, well constructed, plays well and sounds (and looks just as good) as my old '78. The hardware (tuners, bridge) are not cheap looking at all and they do their job,and again the fretwork and satin finished neck make it a joy to play. This bass also has the Duncan designed pickup that the Vintage Modifed line uses, and again it has that old school vintage Fender sound. I highly recommend you give this bass a chance if you're looking for a authentically playing and sounding Precison bass at a reasonable price. As A fan of the Precison bass, I find it to be a winner.
