Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend w/ Wide Undersaddle Pickup Review

I love this pick up! It sounds great and the microphone is a wonder change! Nothing negative to say! We play Contemporary Christian music. Put this into an Epiphone Jumbo. Installation was not too difficult. Did it myself. Had to drill the hole at the strap button a little larger. I made very little change to my saddle to adjust string height and had to drill a small hole in the bridge.

Schertler DYN-V for Violin and Viola Review

Schertler DYN-V for Violin and Viola

I am one of those people who always tries to find a deal. Why pay this amount for name brand when you can get the generic same much less. I've had to learn that in the case of sound equipment, you get what you pay for (for the most part).
Our fiddler needed a pick up and she didnt want one that effected or modified her fiddle in any way. Didnt want to cut any notches into the bridge, etc. She found this picked and when I saw the price, I was put off. Finally, the band caved in and loaned the money for her to get it.
I will say I'm very impressed. The sound is beautiful, we haven't had issues with feedback. It WILL take a little playing around with to find the right place on YOUR fiddle that sounds best. The first time she put it on in the middle of the body, the sound was very hollow. She's played around and found a great sounding spot.
We also bought a pre-amp just to give it that extra head room. If you have the money, buy this pickup.

Great mic, and great buyer experience! It was shipped almost instantly and I could track it all the way long to the delivery place. Also was cool to check the updated status of the item during the travel.
The mic is in perfect conditions in my hands.
Has a clear sound and it works great both mics, the pickup has a strong signal and the acustic mic is also great becouse it gives a brighter sound, but have to be careful not to set the volume high to avoid couplings!.

Fishman Rare Earth Blend Pickup Review

This is the best acoustic pickup/mic I have ever used, in 20 years of using electronics. I have used soundhole pickups, under-saddle pickups (which I hate as they never sound like a real guitar). Previously I was using an internal gooseneck condenser mic with adequate results, but found the sound a bit thin when i used effects. Using a Taylor 510, in a huge church through a mixer into the PA system. Switching to the Fishman was like night and day; was able to dial a blend easily to give my sound some nice full bottom without sacrificing treble. I also found that when i used effects, dialing to the magnetic pickup gave better results. A previous reviewer complained about the mic position; I find it is in an optimal position and have not felt the need to move it; in fact my old gooseneck was annoying because it would eventually drift into a position that was either too much bass or too much treble. I have never felt the need to move the Fishman mic at all.
I decided to retire my Taylor, and have now moved and play in a Church about one fifth the size of the other. I now use an Epiphone Masterbilt 500 (all solid wood, mahogany and spruce), and the pickup continues to be stunning. As I said I much prefer this to an undersaddle piezo; undersaddle combos just seem to "boingy" or "twangy" and less natural to me; with the Fishman blend, I get plenty of bottom from the magnetic pickup without sacrificing a realistic, woody tone.

KH202 Kirk Hammett Signature Model Left Handed Electric Guitar (Black) Review

Buy this guitar and install EMG 81 and 85 treble and bass respectively. The guitar is great, the pickups that come with it suck. There just not enough if you know what I mean. Everything else about this beauty, including the price is the best I've found on the market. Once the new pickups are installed, it will be your favorite guitar. It has the 24 frets medium size. The Floyd hard to deal with Rose Bridge but works like a dream once it is set up right. Let me say this: this ESP vs. a comparable PRS (not those SE models), and PRS gets put back in the case.

Seymour Duncan SA-6 Mag Mic Active Acoustic Guitar Pickup Review

Seymour Duncan SA-6 Mag Mic Active Acoustic Guitar Pickup

I have a Martin acoustic guitar without a built in amplifier. There are times it's needed and started researching new or used acoustic/electric guitars. A few things happened. 1) Couldn't find a guitar that sounded as good as my Martin 2) The price of a new guitar was beyond what I was willing to pay and 3) I didn't want to have two guitars. So...what to do. Heard about sound hole amps and started researching. Bought a name brand at a guitar store and just didn't like the sound. Research and reviews led me to this Seymour Duncan SA-6. Didn't like the price and no discounts anywhere. Finally decided to give it a try through Amazon to save taxes and free shipping. Have not been disappointed. Easy to install. I did not install permanently to the pick up jack so I can remove it later. It's a little unhandy with the cords from the sound hole, but routed to my guitar strap and not a big deal. I play using a Roland AC-33 Acoustic Amp and like the sound. I am not a professional player and mostly play for my own enjoyment, with friends and occasional coffee house. Perhaps there are better sound hole amps, but for about $225 this works very well for me and I now only need one guitar. There are individual string adjustments that I don't use. I like the two volume adjustment on the sound hole without having to go back to the amp. If you're looking for a sound hole amp, give the Seymour Duncan SA-6 a try, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
