(More customer reviews)I've been trying out different guitars here and there to see what I should get (I already had an Ibanez S Series and a Jackson RR - the cheap one...). At some point I tried out this Schecter (but the 6-string version) and really enjoyed how the neck felt. I decided then to get the 7-string version (as I want to write some heavier riffs), and I do not regret. I am loving this guitar!
The sound on these pickups is great, the wood is good, the finishing is just superb (seriously, this guitar looks awesome). The clean sound is also very good, and it's possible to adjust the pickups so they give you the single coil sound... great to come up with some good combinations based on what sounds I'm looking for.
Way to go, Schecter!

(More customer reviews)Get this guitar, plain and simple. For the money you pay you couldn't possibly find a better deal. The build quality is top of the line, you can feel the quality oozing out of it just by holding it. It's been an incredibly reliable instrument for me. It stays in tune really well without the trouble of a finicky and fragile floyd rose. The duncan pickups deliver a clean sound with lots of power. Having that seventh string for the extra range is very nice, especially if you want to play some of the more extreme forms of metal. The body and paintjob are truly beautiful in person. My only complaint is that it doesn't even come with a gear bag, I went ahead and got a nice hardcase for it. If you get a hardcase make sure it's big enough to accommodate the wider neck due to the seventh string.

Schecter Damien Elite-7 FR Seven String Electric Guitar Left Handed Review

(More customer reviews)Bought this guitar a couple months ago and it was the best $600 I've spent...
Its very comfortable and not too heavy at all, the neck plays fast and the action is nice and low so there's not much needed effort to fret the strings. The EMG pickups are amazing, and when played a loud volumes, sounds extremely heavy and crunchy.
The Floyd Rose special system is amazing, I did all types of dive bombs whammy tricks and it never went the slightest out of tune.
This guitar is perfect for metal/hardcore music or anything heavy. I would highly recommend buying this, it's well worth the money.
PROS:
Great pickups
Great Floyd Rose system
Fast neck
Low action
Very comfortable
Stays in tune
Looks great
CONS:
Whammy bar feels a little far off the body (a little difficult to strum and hold whammy bar at the same time with pick hand)
Cutaway a little shallow (a little difficult to reach 24th fret on 1st 3 string, very difficult for last 3)

(More customer reviews)I love this guitar. Bought it about a year and a half ago on this very site and am just now reviewing it. Can't recommend it enough to anyone who wants to get started playing 7-String style music. The attack is amazing, and the action is just right. The sound is sick when put through a distortion pedal or amp. The only 7-String I would want more is the Jeff Loomis custom.

(More customer reviews)This is my second guitar and I'm in love. I've been playing my first for 4 years and thought it was time to upgrade. I've had it since last December and the thing plays like a dream. The Floyd Rose takes time to tune but once it's all set up, you can tear apart your notes with the whammy bar and it'll stay in tune. As far as the 7th string goes (my first was a 6) I have no problem because I have large hands but my buddy mentioned it's slightly troubling for him to reach (he has the same problem on every 7 string he uses so you can't blame Schecter).
As with any guitar, certainly find a store to try it out first before buying. If you can't find this exact model at a store near you, there is the 6 string version and a version without the Floyd Rose that feel exactly the same.
