Overall, I love my RD reissue (I have the 2007 silverburst edition). It is a sturdy guitar that balances well around my neck and is also comfortable to rest on my leg while seated. The 24 3/4" scale is shorter than the original RD (which was 25 1/2"), so it's not the brightest sounding guitar, but it has a nice full tone. I installed Gibson Tony Iommi signature humbuckers in my RD and the sound is fantastic. I've heard only good things about the Burstbuckers, so I am sure they sound awesome loaded into this axe.
The one thing that must be noted about the RD's unusual body shape is that access to the uppermost frets is limited. The simplest way to put it is, when playing in A, your left hand is slightly obstructed if you wish to play in the 17-20th fret range. As much as I love this guitar, I do wish the designers had trimmed just a bit more wood off of the lower horn. For any guitarists who do a lot of shredding and high-register soloing, this would be a significant problem.
The neck is a bit thicker than the one on my Les Paul, but it actually feels perfect to my hands. The rosewood fingerboard feels terrific, I can bend and slur all day long :) It stays in tune well also.
If not for the little nuisance of the reduced fret range, I'd give it 5 stars.
