(More customer reviews)I actually had a Hot Rod Deluxe I years ago and sold it. To me this was like coming back home. It's very simple: 1 channel for clean, 1 for distortion, and a distortion boost. The boost is still as useless as before, in my opinion. This amp is not configured to push hard or break up into full-bore distortion. You will get a heavy overdrive at best that's great for classic rock. If you want it heavier, you have to go with a distortion pedal. On the other hand, the clean channel is superb. It's springy and clear just like a Fender should be. If you do jazz, blues, rockabilly, fusion, country, or classic rock, this is an ideal combo. I got this not only to get back to this tone, but because my playing has moved away from hard rock/metal in the last few years. It suits what I want to do and if I want to dip into the hard rock bag again, I have a Pro Co Rat for it. Anyway enjoy this amp. It's workhorse and won't let you down.
